Overcame Zoning Hurdles To Bring Zeekers Danz Studio To The Community

Today, we celebrate a dream that travelled all the way from Hong Kong to Toronto — and finally found its home.

Zeekers Danz School, founded by Carol and Skylio, brings over 17 years of dance excellence, passion, and heritage to our community. Carol has choreographed for some of Asia’s biggest stars — Aaron Kwok, Jacky Cheung, Karen Mok and more — and now she’s sharing that artistry with families right here in Markham and Toronto. But the journey wasn’t easy.

From zoning challenges to minor variances, the path was rough in the beginning. Starting a studio is never simple — especially when navigating a new city’s processes. That’s when our office connected with Carol.

Councillor Isa Lee worked closely with City teams to support every step, ensure nothing was missed, and help speed up the process so Zeekers Danz could finally open its doors.

And today… We get to witness the beginning of something truly special.
