Strengthening Community Safety & Tackling Crime

Written By Jeffrey Leung

Community Safety First in Ward 8!

Keeping our neighborhoods safe from car thefts, break-ins, and illegal activities remains my top priority. Over the past few years, we’ve taken real action together:

✔️ Partnered with York Regional Police to target crime and issue penalties
✔️ Launched Neighborhood Watch across 8 community pockets
✔️ Hosted Town Halls on crime prevention & safety tips
✔️ Improved Trail Safety with tree trimming & increased patrols
✔️ Supported Victims through the Traumatic Incident Response Protocol
A safer Markham takes all of us working together. Let’s keep building on this progress!
