🧡 Thanksgiving: A Time To Give Thanks, A Time to Give Back

Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family, share a meal, and count our blessings. But while many of us look forward to a table filled with food, some families in our own community are quietly worrying about how they will put their next meal on the table.

Behind every food bank visit is a person, a family, a senior, or a child facing challenges that many of us may never see. Rising grocery prices, high housing costs, and the increasing cost of living have made it harder for many households to make ends meet. Sometimes, even working hard is not enough.

💛 No one in our community should have to choose between putting food on the table and paying for other basic necessities.

The Markham Food Bank plays a vital role in supporting residents facing food insecurity. But its work is about more than providing food. It is about restoring dignity, offering hope, and reminding people that they are not alone.

This Thanksgiving, let us look beyond our own tables and remember those who may be struggling. Whether through food donations, volunteering, financial contributions, or simply spreading awareness, every act of kindness can make a difference.

As a community, we are strongest when we look out for one another. Let’s make sure the spirit of Thanksgiving reaches every household in Markham.

🧡 This Thanksgiving, let’s be grateful for what we have and remember those who have less. Because a caring community is one where no one is forgotten.
